Lesson 3. Ways of sharing and converting of the document
During work with a project there often occurs a necessity of sharing the document
or some part of its information with colleagues or use the results of editing.
ConceptDraw Project offers many different ways of doing this: you can print out
the document, send it in the form of a report, or export it to different formats
and import it from some application formats.
It is Lesson 3 that covers all these tasks.
Printing out the document
In this lesson we will learn how to set different printing parameters and print
out the document.
Quick printing
To quick print the document (with no pre-setting):
- Switch to menu View:
- to print project: to Gantt Chart view
- to print workspace: to Projects view
- to print resource sheet: to Resource Sheet view
- Press icon Print on the toolbar Main
. Dialog Print
will appear.
- Press خت.
- Take the printed document.
Setting document parameters
You can set parameters of the document depending on your needs. Moreover you
can change both the settings of how the document itself will look in printing
and parameters for a print page and for the printer.
By default settings the program will print the whole document in the given
view (Gantt Chart, Resource Sheet or Workspace).
Suppose, you need to print out a chart, not in its full but in one specific
time interval. Besides, in contrast to default settings, you need to print out
the project without the frame and select legends on a different page.
Such settings can be done in dialog Page Setup. It is called
with the help of Page Setup command from menu File.
On tab Page you can set pages, timeframes and the document
scale.
In section Timescale it is specified for which time period
the report will be printed:
In section Scaling the scale in which the document will be
printed is specified. If you need to fit the document to a certain number of
pages, specify corresponding parameters in the field Fit to
(number of pages by width) pages wide by (number of pages by
height) tall.
Task: In the dialog do the following settings: print out the part
from 08/04/04 till 08/19/04, scale 100%.
On tab Margins sizes and position of margins and borders on
print are set.
In section Borders around you can set printing of the document
in frame. If the option Outer pages is selected, the frame
is shown not on each page but around the whole project.
Task: Set printing of the project without a frame and set left margin
to 3 cm for filing the document.
Position of titles, legends and page numeration can be specified on tab Legend.
In field First Page Number the number that will be shown on
first page is indicated.
Task: Set printing the document without title, legends and numeration
of pages.
To see whether the result of settings suits you it is not necessary to close
the dialog.
You can switch to Print Preview mode from any tab. You also
can call the dialog with print settings, or just print out the document using
the corresponding buttons:
Preview opens Print Preview window
Options calls the Print Setup dialog
Print calls Print dialog
Print Setup
Print parameters are set in dialog Print Setup. To call the
dialog use Print Setup in menu File.
In the dialog you can set such parameters as choice of a certain printer, size
and orientation of print page and paper source.

the following steps:

on the toolbar Main.
The program will open the Print Preview window. In this window
